Consultant
Job Description


Successful candidates for the Consultant position will have an MPH, equivalent degree, or commensurate experience. Consultants will be responsible for working both independently and as part of a team to complete engagements in a timely fashion. IHS is currently looking for consultants with particular experience in the areas of health/pharmacoeconomics including outcomes research/Quality of Life analysis.

Representative examples of projects and tasks Consultants are responsible for include:

  • Constructing a data collection strategy, forms and surveys, and analysis plan for a pharmacoeconomic analysis of a drug in conjunction with a clinical trial
  • Selecting appropriate QOL and symptomatology surveys, developing an analysis plan, coordinating data collection, and analyzing results for a large scale post marketing outcomes study
  • Coordinating data collection, entry and analysis for a multi-site prospective economic analysis of a medical device
  • Undertaking interviews of physicians and other health care personnel and decision makers to support pharmacoeconomic, pricing or market analyses
  • Analyzing and presenting results of economic analyses to internal staff, client contacts and health care personnel (conferences, etc.)


Consultants must have excellent written and oral presentation skills. Previous experience in the biopharmaceutical and/or medical device industries is a plus but not required. Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling is also a plus. All Consultants must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access on a PC platform with an ability and desire to learn new software systems as needed.
